Do you accept, Gunther?
December 14, 2010
Abu Dhabi, UAE
The Arena
12:00 PM
The limousine carrying both "Irish Car Bomb" Tim Patrick and Sister Holy Crap pulls up to the Arena. Tim's flight took hours, but luckily he slept the entire time. Sister Holy Crap has been in Abu Dhabi all week hyping Tim Patrick's match with Gunther to the media. This sort of pro-wrestling is new to the United Arab Emirates, so any help with promoting the show helps. A press conference is scheduled for this afternoon, something Patrick has become quite fond of. The door to the Limo opens and Tim Patrick and Sister Holy Crap get out of the car. Photographers are taking pictures and filming their entrance into the Arena, Tim smirks and waves to the cameras as he and his manager walk inside.
Curt Wall is waiting and walks up and shakes hands with the both of them.
Curt Wall: Mr. Patrick, Sister, welcome. The media here is a bit more forward than other countries in this part of the world. Be ready to answer some tough questions.
Sister Holy Crap: I've done enough talking this week, I want to see Tim handle this press conference on his own. I won't be getting involved directly with Tim's match this week, he asked me not to. I'll wait back in our locker room until the press conference is over.
Sister Holy Crap grabs her bags and heads down the hallway.
Curt Wall: Mr. Patrick, follow me please. They're waiting.
Tim Patrick and Curt Wall enter the Press room and Curt stands in front of the microphone and starts the conference.
Curt Wall: Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press. My name is Curt Wall, I've been in charge of these sorts of events for some time now and always look forward to doing them. We just had a very successful Pay-Per-View event that I'm sure most of you saw. It was full of incredible matches and in some cases, total destruction. The man who I'm about to introduce you do was one of the main Destructors, because of what he did to TJ Tilli. TJ's condition is being kept secret to protect the privacy of his family, so let's just say he's not doing well. Most say he had it coming and that the man for the job was the man I'm with today. This week, he's having a re-match with Worldwide Pop Star/Wrestling sensation, Gunther. Their last battle was a clash that will not soon be forgotten, and we all have a feeling that their second confrontation will be just as entertaining to watch. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the "Irish Car Bomb" himself, Tim Patrick!
The press gives Tim Patrick a very nice little ovation and he walks up, shakes hands with Curt Wall, and takes the microphone.
Tim Patrick: Hello everybody. This is my first time in this area of the world, and I'm always up for performing in front of new fans, so I'm very excited to be here in Abu Dhabi. I guess we should start this, so who has the first question?
Reporter: Mr. Patrick, hello, welcome to the UAE. What you did at Legends of the Fall is the talk of the sports world. Not for the quality of your match with TJ Tilli, but the fact that it looks like you may have killed him in the ring. When he was taken out on a stretcher it appeared that he wasn't breathing, and nobody has said what his condition is. What are your thoughts on what happened?
Tim Patrick: It's very simple. We were both booked on a Hardcore Hell match. We both signed on for it and we both showed up to fight. Everybody knows that Hardcore Hell matches are extremely dangerous. About a week before our fight, TJ made it clear to other wrestlers and to management that he didn't care about the promotion before. NLWF, our parent company that we in FTW took over, made TJ Tilli. TJ would have been nobody without all the boys in the back that got him on television every week. He was pretty damn good once. Instead of doing the classy thing and leaving the company with notice, he decided that he'd threaten to no-show and then bad mouth the company.
Reporter: Yes, but is that worth the life threatening beating you gave him?
Tim Patrick: Sir, I have killed men for less. I told TJ in advance that I would not be held responsible for that happens if he were to show up to the fight. To quote somebody you may have heard of, TJ Tilli screwed TJ Tilli. Next question.
Reporter: In you last fight with Gunther, he was in control most of the match, but you kept battling back. He finally beat you for the 1-2-3. How are things going to be different this time?
Tim Patrick: I underestimated his fighting ability. I thought that he was just a goof-ball, which he is, but he's also a very talented wrestler. I've been training with my new manager, Sister Holy Crap, and my head is clearer now than it has been in years. I'm focusing more on the positive aspects of my life rather than he negative. I've been eating better, sleeping better, training harder. And the rush I got from doing what I did to TJ at the Pay Per View is something that will stay with me for a long time.
Reporter: We all heard that you issued a special challenge to Gunther. A match that will take away both of your speciality moves. He won't be able to hit you in the groin, and you won't be able to Detonator kick him. Why did you request such a match? Doesn't it take away from the fans?
Tim Patrick: Dude, have you ever been hit in the nuts?
Reporter: Yes.
Tim Patrick: Was it the worst feeling ever?
Reporter: Yes.
Tim Patrick: That's why. Also, its a show of weakness on Gunther's part. The fact that he can never have a match without hitting somebody in the nuts. Maybe he isn't half the fighter he thinks he is if he can't do that. In return I told him I wouldn't use my spinning heel kick, which has been knocking people out for years. But I intend to beat some respect into him, which is why I challenged him to a Falls Count Anywhere match. I've yet to hear back from him.
Reporter: What makes you think he doesn't respect you?
Tim Patrick: Because guys like Gunther tend not to respect anybody. I want to prove to him the fight I put up last time was no fluke. My goal in this match is not to win, it's to gain his respect. That's all the time I have, I'll see you all tomorrow at Global Takeover.
Tim Patrick walks away from his microphone and the scene ends.
