After Revolution 32: Legacy 17: The Coward
Tuesday, August 3rd 2010
Los Angeles, California
Following Revolution, the biggest fear was that I would run into Ashley. I hadn’t spoken to her since the fight we had, and she was doing whatever she could to get in contact with me. I walk through the halls backstage, making sure to avoid Ashley who was taken away by ME Security during the cage match.
“Nick!”
I begin to walk faster, turning the corner and hiding behind a soda vending machine. I peer around the machine and see Aaron O’Shea walk out of the hall and look around. I step out from beside the vending machine, then reach into my pocket and pull out a few dollar bills. I place them into the machine, not taking my eyes off of Aaron, who finally looks over at me.
Aaron O’Shea
Hey, I was calling you. Erm, Didn’t you hear me?
I look away from him, at the machine, then I press the Dr.Pepper button.
Nick Ridicule
I must not have.
I reach down and grab my soda, then walk away. I an hear his footsteps following me, so I stop. I look over my shoulder at him, smiling at me.
Nick Ridicule
What do you want, O’Shea?
I open my soda, then take a sip from it.
Aaron O’Shea
I want to help you.
I almost choke, then look ahead, a smirk on my face.
Nick Ridicule
You can’t help, the helpless.
I walk away, then feel his hand on my shoulder. I turn around, swatting his arm away from me, with mine. Then stare at him, a menacing look on my face.
Aaron O’Shea
What’s wrong with you?
I take another sip of my soda, flipping him off as I enjoyed my beverage. I put the lid on it loose, then look at him.
Nick Ridicule
How is that, any business of yours O’Shea? I don’t know if you know this, but I fucking hate you. I can’t stand you! The sight of you makes me remember just how pathetic the NLWF used to be! It reminds me of the filth that I dragged NLWF out of.
I throw my soda down on the ground, letting it bounce away, the liquid pouring all around. I turn my back on Aaron, then walk away, but he grabs my shoulder again.
Aaron O’Shea
Why do you hate me so much?
I turn around with a smile. I had a ton of different reasons to hate Aaron. Last year, inside the steel cage match, where I was ripped off of the Universal Title. When I escaped the cage, but the referee was out, and Aaron got the pin on Chuck. Like him returning, only to leave the NLWF, spitting in it’s face each time.
Nick Ridicule
I have my reasons.
I turn around again and walk away, but this time he runs around me, then stops in front of me. He pokes me to the chest and I chuckle.
Aaron O’Shea
And I deserve to know them!
I think of the main reason I hate Aaron O’Shea, then nod my head. He was right, he deserved to know the real reason I hate him.
Nick Ridicule
Fine, Aaron, I hate you most of all because once while talking with my wife, I made the mistake of asking her, “If I wasn‘t around, what wrestler would you want to be with?” I bet you can guess what her answer was.
I put my hand on his shoulder, and use it to push my way past him.
Aaron O’Shea
So you hate me, because of a hypothetical question?
I laugh slightly, more of a sarcastic jackass laugh, then a real one. I spin around, my arms out to my sides.
Nick Ridicule
Yup. I even attacked you at the show following her answer, and I took the GM job away from you that night, just to show her how much better I am, than you. I’m a better wrestler, I’m a better GM, I’m a better champion, fuck it, I’m D. All of the above!
I flip Aaron O’Shea off with both of my hands. He shakes his head, a look of anger on his face.
Aaron O’Shea
That’s not fair!
I put my hands down, disgusted.
Nick Ridicule
Life isn’t fair!
I try to walk away again, but the sound of his voice stops me.
Aaron O’Shea
What about tonight? What about me having your back out there, saving you from Knife to Know you!
Saving me? I turn around and charge forward towards him. I grab him by his shirt with both of my hands, and he doesn’t struggle or put up any kind of fight.
Nick Ridicule
Knife to Know you, was going to do to me, EXACTLY what I deserve to have done!
Aaron O’Shea
What do you mean by that?
I hold his shirt, then look down at my hands. Who is this monster, that I’ve become? I release his shirt, nodding my head. I point at him, putting my finger in his face.
Nick Ridicule
Stop following me.
I turn around again to walk away, but this time he grabs my arm and spins me back around to face him.
Aaron O’Shea
I’m not going to stop following you, until we’ve resolved our differences!
Nick Ridicule
You want to resolve our differences? Alright, stay away from me, and stay away from Ashley!
We stand face to face, both of us refusing to back down.
“Do I have any say in this?”
The sound of her voice cuts through me like a blade. I turn slowly to look at Ashley. Seeing her face again after over a week was a frightening. She was as beautiful as ever, but the butterflies in my stomach, that uncomfortable feeling of nausea, everything I had done, tainted it.
Nick Ridicule
Hi…
Sadly, it’s all I could think to say to her. I knew at some point I would have to face my fear, talk to Ashley about what happened. I didn’t think it would be now, in front of Aaron O’Shea.
Ashley Ridicule
Hello, can we please go somewhere and talk? It feels like you’ve been avoiding me, since last week.
I look at Aaron beside me, then back at her, trying to think of any reason not to talk right now.
Nick Ridicule
I… well… I um…
I begin to lose track of my breathe, trying my best to regain it. I grab for my chest, then stagger backwards, falling into the arms of Aaron O’Shea who keeps me from falling to the ground. Aaron holds me up, and he looks at Ashley.
Aaron O’Shea
What’s wrong with him?
Ashley Ridicule
He’s having a panic attack! Go get someone, I’ll stay here with him.
I watch as Ashley kneels down and motions for Aaron to bring me to her. He lays me down, placing my head on her lap. I continue to pant for air, and see Aaron O’Shea run off. Ashley had only ever seen me have a panic attack one other time, and it was a pretty mild one, nothing like the recent attacks.
Ashley Ridicule
I’m so sorry about all of this. I’m sorry I was pushing you away, and starting fights… I’m so, so sorry.
I close my eyes as I feel tears start to form. I’m such a fucking bastard. I want to tell her that she has nothing to be sorry about, that I love her more than anything, that I’m the one who’s sorry. But instead, I continue to gasp for oxygen, I continue to wait. She kisses my forehead and I can’t help but feel worse.
Ashley Ridicule
Here comes Aaron with some docters, you’re going to be just fine. I’ll stay with you, and I’ll make sure you’re safe, and I’ll be the wife you want me to be.
She keeps kissing my forehead. The tears stream down my face, and I feel myself being lifted up off of Ashley lap.
“Move him gently to the stretcher, we need to get him to the medical station! Put the oxygen mask over his mouth.”
I’m laid down on the stretcher, and I feel the mask be placed over my mouth. I open my eyes slightly, looking at Ashley standing next to Aaron, a look of concern on both faces. I’m rolled to the medical station, and my breathing becomes calmer. They bring me inside and close the door, not letting Aaron or Ashley inside.
“Mr. Ridicule, are you feeling alright?”
I nod my head, as I continue to breath with the use of my oxygen mask.
“Do you need anything?”
I shake my head no as he walks over to the door
“Do you want me to let your wife in?”
I shake my head no again, then watch as he leaves the room. I wait a few seconds, then rip the mask off my face and drop he head into my hands. Faking a panic attack to get out of talking with my wife, that’s gotta be an all time low for me. I walk around the medical station room, then notice a pad and pen on the desk of the doctor. I grab the pad and begin to write out a note for Ashley, giving her directions on when and where to meet with me. I sign it, then casually walk over to the door. I open it slightly and look around the hall for anyone, but the coast is clear. I open the door more, then stick my head out, and look in the other direction, seeing the doctor talking with Ashley and Aaron. I put the note inside my jacket, then I toss my jacket onto the bed and walk out of the room. I speed walk down the hall, and quickly turn the corner, then peer around to see if anyone saw me. They didn’t.
Nick Ridicule
Coward..
I look at my reflection in the mirror as I walk towards the arena exit. I flip myself off, then leave the arena, alone. One Year Anniversary
Sunday, August 8th 2010
Miami, Florida
I pull up at the front gate of a mansion, driving my 72’ Chevy SS Nova. I reach up and press the gate opener button, attached to the passenger sun visor. I watch as the gate opens, then I drive up onto the large grey stone road. I drive towards the mansion, looking out at the fields of green on both sides. One-Hundred acres of land, the greenest grass I’ve ever seen in my life, trees, flowers, even bushes sculpted to look like things. I make it to the end of the road, then circle around the angel water fountain in the middle of the circle of stone.
I park my car, then step out, staring at the house. I had only been twice, once to check out it, and the second time to buy it. It was going to be the greatest gift I had ever gotten for Ashley, a place where we could grow old together, watching the years roll by. A place where we could start a family, raise our children, be happy forever.
I walk towards the house and step inside, wondering if Ashley had made it yet. I left her a note telling her to meet me here, then refused to answer any of her messages throughout the week. I enter the house and look at the two pillars position by the doorway. I had never spent more money on anything, than I did on this place. Over four million dollars, and that was after the lady made a generous offer, since Ashley was her favorite wrestler.
I let out a sigh, then kick my shoes off and step into the house some more. The place came fully furnished, and on the other side of the property was a large barn. The mansion itself was two stories, and came with all the appliances we needed. It had a laundry room, a room for maids with it’s own bathroom, a studio room where I would be able to record music, a pool in the back with a hot tub, A balcony coming out of the master bedroom, a patio.
It was the most perfect place imaginable, the perfect gift for our one year anniversary. I walk up the steps, then walk towards the bedroom. I step inside, but don’t stop walking, instead I keep going until I’m force to fall face first into the bed.
I grab one of the pillows and let out a monstrous roar. I throw the pillow back, then punch the bed a few times as I hear something coming from downstairs. I knew it had to have been Ashley, so I got up and I rushed back down to check the intercom.
Nick Ridicule
Hello?
I release the button and wait for a response.
Ashley Ridicule
It’s me.
I press the button again.
Nick Ridicule
I’ll let you in.
I press the button to open the gate, then sit down on the kitchen counter, waiting for Ashley to make it to the house. My nerves were running completely wild, I had never felt so weird in my entire life. I wanted to throw up, but the fact I hadn’t eaten in days prevented it from happening. I keep waiting for Ashley to make the long drive to the mansion, then hear her car pull out. Sadly, I reach over and grab a stack of papers from a manila folder. I stare at the papers and can feel an overwhelming sadness eating away at me.
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
Nick Ridicule
It’s open.
I look towards the door and watch as Ashley slowly enters, looking around with an amazed look on her face.
Ashley Ridicule
Wow… Where are we?
Nick Ridicule
Our home… your home.
I look at her and an entire year of memories rush through my mind at once. Tears swell my eyes up, then drop down onto the papers in hand.
Ashley Ridicule
You.. Bought this place?
Nick Ridicule
Happy anniversary Ashley…
Ashley Ridicule
It’s amazing!
She walks towards me and grabs my face. She kisses me, without giving me a chance to stop her. I let it happen, I grab her waist and I kiss her back, never wanting it to end. Finally I build up the courage, and I push her away, breaking contact.
Ashley Ridicule
Can we please just put everything behind us? I don’t want our most special day together to be ruined.
Nick Ridicule
It’s not that simple Ashley…
Ashley Ridicule
It could be! If you just let it! Let’s forget everything bad leading to this moment, only the good things remain. What do you say?
I look down at the ground. That’s exactly what I wanted, to just put things aside, but not this way.
Ashley Ridicule
Oh, that reminds me, I’ve got something that belongs to you!
Ashley hurries away from me, leaving the mansion. I can hear her open up her car door, then slam it shut. I think about how to word the things I have to say to her, but nothing comes to mind. She enters the mansion, then walks up to me, holding something in a framed case. She turns it around, revealing the platinum record for Crude Ambiguity’s CD, removing the heart.
Ashley Ridicule
You weren’t at the ceremony, so I accepted it for you. I’m going to find a place for it… THIS PLACE IS HUGE!
Ashley smiles and walks out of the kitchen. I hear her footsteps headed up the stairs. I think about how to go about things with her, then I shake my head I try to listen for Ashley, but don’t hear a thing. I turn around and look at Ashley, as she snatches the papers from my hands. She managed to sneak around the kitchen and sneak up on my, catching me off guard.
Ashley Ridicule
What’s this?
She looks down at the divorce papers, then she looks at me again. I pull myself off the kitchen counter, standing up in front of her.
Ashley Ridicule
You want a divorce?
I can see pain fill her, and tears fill her eyes. I shake my head.
Nick Ridicule
No. Never.
I take the papers back and throw them into the folder. I turn around slowly and look into her watery eyes.
Ashley Ridicule
Then what the fuck is that?
I swallow, then grabs her hand in mine. She quickly pulls her hand away from me, then begins taking off her wedding ring.
Nick Ridicule
I have something I need to tell you Ashley…
She holds her ring in her clenched fist. She’s blushing so much, her entire face is practically red.
Ashley Ridicule
What is it?
I think about how to say it, the best way to put it without crushing her. I try to look her in the eyes, but the shame is too much and I look away.
Nick Ridicule
I… I.. Ashley, I cheated on you.
Ashley turns around and leans forward, grabbing the counter with both hands. She shakes her head. I stare at her back, surprised she didn’t attack me.
Ashley Ridicule
With?
I close my eyes and speak the name.
Nick Ridicule
Kat.
She shakes her head some more, then starts to nod.
Ashley Ridicule
No excuses? No stories on why you did it?
I shake my head, and mumble.
Nick Ridicule
No.
I wait for her to ask me for the papers, or turn around with a slap to my face.
Ashley Ridicule
I forgive you.
I look up, shocked.
Nick Ridicule
Really?
Ashley Ridicule
Yeah… But…
I waited for her to say something, anything. Each moment felt like my entire life being relived again and again. A single second felt like an hour.
Ashley Ridicule
Am I a bad kisser?
I’m suddenly confused.
Nick Ridicule
What?
Ashley Ridicule
You’ve kissed, three other girls now… in one year… is it me?
I look at the ground, then close my eyes. Poor Ashley. I never wanted to hurt her, I never meant to. In fact, my number one goal was to make sure she never felt the kind of pain she did growing up.
Nick Ridicule
It’s not you.. But.. We.. Did more than just kiss, Ashley.
Ashley turns and looks at me. He face is a mess, makeup smeared, her cheeks a watery rosy red.
Ashley Ridicule
You fucked her?
I nod my head.
Nick Ridicule
I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, words don’t do it any justice!
Ashley looks heartbroken, then she turns around turning her back to me. I couldn’t blame her, I wouldn’t want to look at me either at this point.
Ashley Ridicule
Say it…
Nick Ridicule
I’m sorry…
She shakes her head.
Ashley Ridicule
NO! Tell me what you did, I want to hear you say it! I want you to tell me, don’t sugar coat it!
I close my eyes, and fighting against myself, I manage to say the three words that would forever change my life.
Nick Ridicule
I fucked Katrina.
Ashley spins around, and swings at me. I stood by, ready to take the shot, but didn’t notice the knife in her hands. She slashes me across my neck with the kitchen bread knife, cutting my throat open. Blood quickly pours from the wound, and I can see it spill out on the kitchen floor, and in my hands. I fall to my knees, then fall to the kitchen floor.
Ashley Ridicule
What have I done!
Ashley runs away, leaving me to die. I can’t breath, the blood continues to rush from my body, everything quickly begins to fade to black…
-The End of Nick Ridicule-
Not so much… I push up with a single hand, using my other hand to hold the wound as shut as I possibly could. I grab the counter and use it to get to my feet. Blood soaks the kitchen floor, and I almost trip over it. I grab a towel, then move my hand quickly, putting the towel against the wound, before putting my hand back on it for pressure.
I cough a bit and blood mixed with spit comes out of my mouth. I grab the knife off the counter, the one Ashley used to try to kill me, then I stumble through the house. I open up the back doors, then fall to the ground, on the patio. I lift up the pool drainage area, then drop the knife inside and close it shut. I look ahead at the inviting pool, and considering jumping in, just to end it already.
The pain had become so unbearable, that I was starting to gag and dry heave. I managed to get back up, and enter the house again, stumbling, falling, crawling, doing everything I could with the last minute I had of survival.
I crawl up the steps, then make my way into the display room, where I planned to have our greatest accomplishments put up,, before someday turning it into one of our kids rooms. I get to my feet, using the door to lift me up.
I see my reflection in the Platinum record case, and I slowly move towards it. I reach on and touch the glass, then take a few steps backwards. I dash forward and throw myself into the Platinum record, shattering the glass, into my face. I fall down to the ground and the record fall off the wall and lands beside me. I remove my hand from the towel, covering the wound, then I wait to die.
A cheater, a bastard, a no good dirt bag dies… and his wife will get away with it…
THE MATCH
STRIKE BACK KID
What else is left to be said? What can I possibly say anymore, that I haven’t already said, or that already hasn’t been said by someone else. I’m holder of the World Heavyweight and Undisputed Titles, I had the NLWF Title stolen away from me, I had my #1 rank stolen from me.
What else can I say?
Without a doubt, I’m still at the top of the mountain, alone as the best. With Jason Hawk back, and with the NLWF title in his possession, he’s the closest to catching up to me, yet our record is against each other, is six to zero.
How is it, that I sit at the very top of the NLWF, have the biggest bulls eye, the biggest target on my back, yet remain unbeaten, untouched, unthreatened? It makes no sense to me. I have a feeling of invincibility lately, even though I wish I was dead.
No worse feeling than wanting to die, but being unable to, trust me.
But you would know that feeling, wouldn’t you Death-Angel? I’m sure you’re faced with this feeling, every single day of your life. That’s why you wish to cause pain, that’s why you want people to be as miserable as you are, that’s exactly why I’m having all these feelings.
I want people to feel as much pain, as I feel. I want everyone to hurt. I want the entire NLWF to suffer, to choke on blood, to know the true definition on pain. Because none of you fuckers know it. None of you assholes on your high horse, truly know pain.
I’m going to change that.
Bad Company, I’m starting with you. You want to rip me off of the tag team titles? Whatever. You want to book matches that are as retarded as the team they were booked by? Whatever. I don’t back down to anybody, I don’t back down from any challenge or obstacle.
But just know, that if you fuck with me, it’s only a matter of time before I fuck with you. This is payback fuckers, this is vengeance for that bullshit tag team title match at the show you were in charge of. This is the wrath and the fury of the World and Undisputed Champion, making sure you leave Direct Hit with absolutely NOTHING!
Not the Tag Team Titles, not your rankings, not even the clothes on your back! I will make sure you leave with nothing! Only the memory of what I’ve done to you. Only the thought that “We shouldn‘t have fucked with Nick Ridicule!”
Nope, you shouldn’t have.
This is the week where the shit hit’s the fan.
The question I have, for everyone.
Where will you be when it splatters?
I’ll be hit, without a doubt. I’m going to get hit by a shitstorm worse than anyone has ever seen, and you know what. I’m not afraid. I’m ready for the challenge and willing to break myself to get back the only thing that matters to me.
You guys want to be the best?
You guys want to show everyone, that Bad Company is the real deal in the NLWF, here to stay for the long run?
Then you’ve got to beat the best. I wont leave Direct Hit without the tag team titles! I refuse to leave Direct Hit without those belts, without making sure Bad Company is DEAD! I’m going to be the man who brings this evil team of failure to it’s knees.
At Direct Hit, I’m going to make sure, your lives are like mine. A living hell. Nothing else matters, no other goals have been set for me. I will destroy Bad Company, once and for all.
You wanted war?
You got it.

You got it.
