I watched as they lifted Chuck Matthews on the cross, tears began to fill my eyes as I thought about possibly never seeing him again. This was Chuck Matthews final night in the No Limit Wrestling Federation, and instead of a Salvation reunion, or a goodbye and good luck. Instead I watched my former brother, my former best friend, vanish into the arena darkness, knowing it was the end of an era.

“WE NEED HELP!”

The fans we psychotic, arms reached into the ring, security putting all they had into stopping them, and holding them back. I continue to stare up, like Chuck Matthews would come back down and apologize, but it was a unrealistic daydream. I looked away finally, some people had half their body in the ring, almost past security. It was like a horror movie, I knew eventually they would break past and get to me, but until then I would enjoy it. I saw a man charge me, I kicked him to the stomach and kneed him to the face, finishing his night with a punt kick.

I could hear people screaming, I could see people getting ran over and stepped on, this was one huge disaster. I knew by now Chuck Matthews was probably backstage packing up, getting ready to leave the NLWF. I couldn’t believe I was trapped in the ring, I at least wanted to say goodbye to him. I used my foot to push people back, this was way out of hand.

I watched more security run down the ramp, a few more fans entered the ring and charged me. I grabbed one by the back of the head and used his momentum to throw him over the top rope. The other fan jumped on my back. I grabbed him and flipped him forward then kicked him to the ribs. I felt something crash into the back of my head, I jumped back up dizzy.

■■I could feel the ring begin the shake, and oddly enough, All I could hear was music. I started singing.■■

■■The Crowd jumped up and began chanting at me. The arena was dim, begging to smoke up from the barbwire baseball bat that was still on fire.■■

■■I jumped jump up too the second rope, I kicked a few people away who tried to climb up the ring steps. Bottles and chairs flew over head, it was a war zone.■■

How to speak and ask all the questions.

■■The Crowd jumped up again, chanting in harmony at me. A couple got into the ring. I punt kicked one immediately, then grabbed the other and lifted him above my head. I launched him over the top rope taking out a good section of the crowd.■■

■■The lights in the arena went off, only one light stayed on, a spotlight on me as I looked up, trying to see Chuck Matthews on the cross.■■

My eyes opened, I had the worst headache, the back of my head thumped. I placed my hand on the back of my head and felt a nasty wound, it was gushing blood. I looked around, the crowd was just about in the ring. I fought up to my feet and kicked the nearest person. I looked around to see what I could do to protect myself. I saw Shadow Demon’s tables set up, they were still standing after all the commotion. I climbed the turnbuckle and got grabbed by several people, I turned around and dropkicked them off of me. Several more people grabbed me from the apron, I threw punches like crazy, knocking people down and out. I climbed to the top rope and leaped over the crowd entering the ring…

I crashed through the pyramid of tables, I looked back towards the ring. The corners exploded, sending the ring collapsing hard and sending the fans bouncing in every direction. I crawled off of the broken tables and stood up. More security and medics ran down the stage passing me by, I walked up the stage not looking back, it was a disaster.

“Brenton what the hell happened out their?”

I walked right by not even taking the time to look who it was that asked me that. I walked to my car, not even changing out of my wrestling clothes, I had to get the hell out of there.
